Our wine tastings are held at the Lion Hotel, Wyle Cop, Shrewsbury.  This beautiful grade 1 listed former coaching house hotel has a wealth of 16th Century detail and makes a superb place to relax before or after a wine tasting.

Our tastings are held in the Pickwick Room on the 1st floor, to which a lift is available.

 

The hotel has a superb à la carte restaurant and bar meals are also available.  We take lunch in the Haywards restaurant as part of our Saturday wine tasting days.

 

 

 

 

 

 A large private car park is available and the hotel is a ten minute walk to Shrewsbury railway station, which has frequent services to Telford, Ludlow, Whitchurch and further afield to Chester, Wolverhampton, Manchester, Birmingham and Cardiff.

The Lion Hotel has 58 rooms and Shropshire Wine School customers on our Saturday tastings benefit from a discounted rate, be sure to mention that you are a Shropshire Wine School customer when booking. The hotel is usually full on Saturdays so best to book well in advance.
