Virtual Wine Tasting
Well, we are all sitting at home and Shropshire Wine School is in temporary suspended animation so we are running "virtual wine tastings"
This will be live streamed on our Facebook page every Wednesday at 8.00pm
Previous streams can be viewed below

Wednesday 1st April live stream here
No experience is necessary, so if you’ve always wanted to try a wine tasting but never got round to it this is your chance, from the comfort of your own home! Regular Shropshire Wine School attendees are of course most welcome and it will be nice to “see” you all (don’t worry I can’t actually see you, so feel free to wear whatever you like!)
If you want to “drink along” please get hold of a bottle of white wine and a bottle of red wine. I will update the wines I am going to be tasting every week on Facebook and also on this website.
On Wednesday 8th April the wines will be:
Macon Villages AC (Chardonnay from Burgundy)
Saint Emilion Grand Cru AC (Merlot/Cabernet Franc)
If you want to go out and find these type of wines, please follow Government advice, add them to your usual shopping trip and don't make a specific journey. Better still if you can order them for home delivery.
Note: I wouldn't usually suggest you go out and buy a St Emilion Grand Cru as they tend to be rather expensive, but the one in image is from Lidl and is a pretty decent example, usually priced at £10.99 it is currently on offer at £6.79 which is ridiculously cheap. If you've got a Lidl handy to you go and buy one (or more than one if they will let you!)
You will obviously also need some wine glasses and I’d recommend some water. Why not make an evening of it and have some nibbles or perhaps some cheese and biscuits as well? Brie/Camembert goes very nicely with a Macon Villages.
For future sessions I will again suggest what wines you should try and obtain. Don’t worry it won’t be anything obscure or hard to find so that we can all be “on the same page”.
I expect the session to be between 45-60 minutes depending on how many questions I get.
Best of all these sessions are absolutely FREE. However, you are most welcome to make a nominal donation towards the cost of the wines using the link below.
