Virtual Tasting Facebook Sessions
Well, we are all sitting at home and Shropshire Wine School is in temporary suspended animation so we are running "virtual wine tastings".
This will be live streamed on our Facebook page every Wednesday at 8.00pm with previous streams available for viewing there.
No experience is necessary, so if you’ve always wanted to try a wine tasting but never got round to it this is your chance, from the comfort of your own home! Regular Shropshire Wine School attendees are of course most welcome and it will be nice to “see” you all (don’t worry I can’t actually see you, so feel free to wear whatever you like!)
If you want to “drink along” please get hold of the wines we are discussing on the night. I will update the wines I am going to be tasting every week on Facebook and also on this website.
For Wednesday 6th May the wines will be from Spain and Portugal
• Sainsbury's "Taste the Difference Alvarinho - (Sainsbury's or "Vinho Verde" from anywhere)
• Muga Rioja Reserva DOCa (Available from Majestic and others) Try and obtain a "reserva" or "gran reserva", Muga is an outstanding example
For Wednesday 13th May the wines will be German Riesling and New Zealand Pinot Noir
• von Kesselstatt Saar Riesling (Wine Society or Tanners have loads of lovely Rieslings)
• Ara Marlborough Pinot Noir (Majestic or Waitrose, although all supermarkets stock decent NZ Pinot)
I expect the sessions to be between 45-60 minutes depending on how many questions I get.
You will obviously also need some wine glasses and I’d recommend some water. Why not make an evening of it and have some nibbles or perhaps some cheese and biscuits as well?
For future sessions I will again suggest what wines you should try and obtain. Don’t worry it won’t be anything obscure or hard to find so that we can all be “on the same page”.
Best of all these sessions are absolutely FREE. However, you are most welcome to make a nominal donation towards the cost of the wines using the link below.
